Terms and Conditions

This web site and discussion board are provided to you as a public service.

Whether this is your first time on-line or you're a seasoned user, we've spelled out our house rules for you here. Generally speaking, these rules simply require respect and good manners. Use common sense, and you'll feel right at home.

Our specific house rules are:

 1. The information on our web site is provided "as is" without warranties either expressed or implied. Our web site's information is intended for educational purposes only.

 2. We cannot and do not guarantee, warranty or otherwise affirm the accuracy of any information provided on this web site. The information provided is not a substitute for an evaluation by a qualified medical provider and should not be used as a basis for medical decisions.

 3. Users accessing our web site and discussion board assume full responsibility for their interpretation of this information. Parents of Children With Lyme disclaims responsibility for all consequences, including negligence, due to one's actions, and/or lack thereof, based on their understanding of this information.

 4. Opinions posted on the our discussion board, as well as other content published with an attribution, represent the views of the authors and are not necessarily the opinion of the Parents of Children With Lyme.

 5. We operate by the rated G rules of the movies, so we don't allow obscene, racist, or sexually explicit language. We also reserve the right to remove postings that defame or insult anyone, and notes that are abusive or hateful. Any harassing notes or postings that might be construed as stalking will be deleted and made available to the proper law-enforcement officials. We also reserve the right to remove notes that are off the subject or not in English.

 6. No solicitations or advertisements are allowed. This includes advertisements for your business or latest get-rich-quick scheme and any solicitation with respect to products or services. Such notes add clutter and devalue conversation.

 7. You may not suggest or encourage illegal activity. Parents of Children With Lyme will assist law-enforcement officials.

 8. Users shall not post or transmit through our discussion board any material which violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, which is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane or otherwise objectionable, which encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any law. Any conduct by a user that in our discretion restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying our web site or discussion board will not be permitted.

 9. You must respect the privacy of individuals. This means no posting of phone numbers, addresses, Social Security numbers, or any other private information.

10. Having good manners online means that you don't post the same note more than once. The on-line word for posting many times on one topic is "spamming." We don't allow that.

11. You participate at your own risk on the bulletin boards, in chat, and in e-mail. All chats are monitored by Parents of Children With Lyme staff members. You take responsibility for postings under your identification and use the information provided on Parents of Children With Lyme, including in our discussion board, chat, and e-mail, at your own risk. Parents of Children With Lyme takes no responsibility for the content or opinions posted in our discussion board, chat, and e-mail.

12. Parents of Children With Lyme shall have the right, but not the obligation, to monitor the content of our discussion board to determine compliance with this Agreement and any operating rules established by Parents of Children With Lyme and to satisfy any law, regulation or authorized government request. Parents of Children With Lyme shall have the right in its sole discretion to edit, refuse to post or remove any material submitted to or posted on our discussion board. Without limiting the foregoing, Parents of Children With Lyme shall have the right to remove any material that Parents of Children With Lyme, in its sole discretion, finds to be in violation of the provisions hereof or otherwise objectionable.

13. If you see a post or that you feel violates any of the above house rules, please notify the Webmaster. Barring technical difficulties, we will respond in 24 hours.

14. By posting to any portion of Parents of Children With Lyme you agree to abide by Parents of Children With Lyme Terms and Conditions of Use.
